Technological advances, coupled with a lack of regulation and oversight, have made it even easier for criminals to steal our money. Call centres, individuals, and criminal organisations based around the world bombard us with phone calls, text messages, emails, and any other way they can to gain our attention and lure us into parting with our money.

One of the most prevalent APP scams is the bank impersonation scam. Criminals call victims pretending to be from their bank and tell them their money is at risk and needs to be moved into a safe account until such time that their actual bank account is safe to use.

Impersonation of reputable companies and banks is often hard to detect, especially in a fast paced life where everything is done with a click of a button.
